Where You Live Shapes How You Live. The Hello Advocates Philosophy.

If you asked me what I do, the simple answer would be that I'm a buyer's advocate helping people purchase homes across Geelong and the Surf Coast. But that isn't why Hello Advocates exists. The truth is, I don't believe I'm simply helping people buy property. I believe I'm helping people make one of the most important decisions of their lives.

It started long before Hello Advocates

Before becoming a buyer's advocate, I spent years in the construction industry, working alongside families as they designed and built their homes. At the time, I thought my passion was building beautiful homes. Over the years, I realised it was something much bigger. I wasn't passionate about houses. I was passionate about what those houses made possible. Because I've always believed one simple truth:

Where you live shapes how you live.

That belief has never changed. It simply evolved. Today, instead of helping families build homes, I help them choose the right one.

A home is so much more than a property

It's easy to think of buying a home as a financial transaction:

Finding the right suburb.

Negotiating the right price.

Signing contracts.

Completing inspections.

Those things matter. But they're only part of the story. A home becomes the backdrop to your life. It's where children grow up. Where neighbours become lifelong friends. Where birthdays are celebrated around the kitchen table. Where Christmas traditions begin. Where your morning coffee becomes a ritual. Where your dog waits at the front door every afternoon. Where your grandchildren might one day run through the backyard. These are the moments that create extraordinary lives. The house itself doesn't create those moments. But it creates the opportunity for them. That's why choosing the right home matters so much.

Buying a home is one of life's biggest decisions

For most people, buying a home is the largest financial commitment they'll ever make. But I don't think that's what makes it so significant. It's significant because every property decision has the potential to influence the direction of your life. The right neighbourhood can transform your daily routine. The right school zone can shape furure opportunities for your children. The right community can create a beautiful sense of belonging and lead to lifelong friendships. The right location can give you back hours each week that would otherwise be spent commuting. The right home can make everyday life feel easier, calmer and more connected. Conversely, the wrong property can create unnecessary compromises for years to come. That's why buying a home deserves more than luck. It deserves thoughtful advice, careful due diligence and someone willing to ask the questions that many buyers don't even know to ask. And yes, there will often be compromises when purchasing a home but knowing when to compromise and when to walk away is where expert guidance is invaluable.

Why I became a buyer's advocate in Geelong

Living and working in Geelong has given me the opportunity to see how incredibly different two streets only minutes apart can feel. Every suburb has its own rhythm. Every neighbourhood has its own personality. Every family has different priorities. Some clients value walkability. Others want to be close to excellent schools. Some dream of space for children to play. Others want a low-maintenance lifestyle close to cafés and the waterfront. Finding the right property isn't simply about matching a brief. It's about understanding the life someone wants to create. Only then can we determine which home gives them the greatest opportunity to live it.

We don't start with property

When clients first meet with Hello Advocates, they're often expecting to talk about bedrooms, budgets and suburbs. Those conversations are important. But they're not where we begin.

Instead, I ask questions like:

  • What do you want life to look like in five or ten years?

  • What does an ideal Saturday morning look like?

  • What matters most to your family?

  • What compromises are you willing, or unwilling, to make?

Because before we choose the right property, we need to understand the life it's meant to support. That philosophy shapes every recommendation I make.

Buy with Absolute Confidence

The promise of Hello Advocates is simple:

Buy with Absolute Confidence.

That confidence isn't just about knowing you've paid a fair price. It's knowing you've chosen a home that aligns with the life you want to build. It's confidence that the suburb suits your family. Confidence that the property has been thoroughly assessed. Confidence that someone independent is sitting on your side of the table. Confidence that the important questions hasve been asked before you commit. Because when you understand both the property and the life it can support, you can move forward with clarity.

Why this matters

Hello Advocates exists because I believe property has the power to shape lives. Not because the home itself changes everything. But because it becomes the foundation upon which life unfolds. Every recommendation we make is guided by one question:

Will this property help our client build the life they want to live?

If the answer is yes, we'll do everything we can to help them secure it. If the answer is no, we'll keep looking. Because buying a home isn't just a property decision. It's a life decision.

And that's why where you live shapes how you live.
